Petronas Eduquest Camp 2011

Salam to all~

Seeing those pages of F5 2011 in facebook make make me wanna share this experience of mine

last year :)

Well, alhamdulillah i was selected to get the Petronas scholarship

Actually this post was in my previous blog but i still keep it for future references :)

So, this is just a copy and paste post from my previous entry ,,

Well, not to say that i am that good but i think that the juniors might need this kind of information

as last year i also browsed for information and guidance through this way,,

I am also hoping that more Smapians will be with me here in Petronas team :)

PETRONAS EDUQUEST CAMP 2011 :)

lama sudah mau buat post ni tapi, tertangguh2.. hehe.. post ni tujuan nya supaya adik2 yg

akan apply petronas juga insyaAllah dapat manfaat, keyh:)

okeyh, bila keluar keputusan SPM, actually x terfikir pun maw apply Petronas sbb mcm

x yakin akan dapat.. tapi, Allah knows best kan.. sebelum tarikh tutup, saya sempat apply..

(saja cuba2 nasib atas nasihat abah)

alhamdulillah pada 12 april, saya dapat tahu saya terpilih untuk ke petronas eduquest camp

pada 24 & 25 april di kompleks tabung haji Kota Kinabalu..

hanya 25 orang di Sabah yang terpilih:)

p/s: walau ada yg nda dapat lepas temuduga, ketahuilah, being chosen to attend

the interview was already a bless:) bukan senang tw..

yaa,, di sinilah kita berjuang untuk merebut 350 tempat yang ditawarkan untuk

para pelajar dari seluruh Malaysia.. (Utp n Overseas)

pada hari pertama, kami diberikan taklimat oleh encik Norman, Manager bahagian

Student ni..

next, kami ada sesi bergambar skit... next, check in ke bilik hotel.. :)

best kan Petronas, sediakan penginapan sebab dua hari camp..

next, kami solat dan lunch.. jam 2 petang, kami ada English Placement Test,

susah????? x payah cakap.. haha... mmg quite hard,, SPM pun x susah macam ni..

tapi, jawab je lah.. yg penting jawab semua okeh.. masa terhad.. 1 jam 50 soalan.. :)

vocabulary, comprehension.. semua lah.. pendek kata, semua ada.. haha..

kemudian , kami sambung dengan IQ TEST dalam bentuk diagram.

macam senang jugak pada mulanya tapi yg kat belakang tu gelabah juga jawab.. hehe..

40 soalan 20 minit..:P

next is IQ TEST dalam bentuk verbal.. kamu dikehendaki mmbaca bnyak paragraph and jawab

yg ini, 60 soalan 30 minit..

last sekali malam itu, kami ada MATHEMATICS AND SCIENCE TEST..

math and science untuk yg technical student means ambil enginnering:

kalo student yg apply finance, economics, n accounts, buat

math test sahaja... 50 soalan 1 jam:)

dan last but not least, untuk pelajar yg apply ke oversea, ada satu lagi macam personality test

tapi, ni x susah.,, personality kan.. u should know urself well :)

malam itu, kami juga dibahagikan kepada bebrapa kumpulan iaitu kumpulan untuk temuduga

hari esoknya.. :)

malam tu, prepare sikit2 n iron baju semua supaya x kelam kabut pagi esoknya..

ohya, ahli kumpulan saya adalah (ikut susunan card):

1) Amin (nda taw nama sebenar)

2) Elsa Ng

3) Asmah

4) saya

5) Euginie Tracy Wong

p/s: kami ni semua apply overseas.. :)

kumpulan kami akan ditemuduga pada jam 9 pagi:))

okeh, lbih kurang jam 8.30 kami dipanggil masuk ke satu bilik dan diberikan sekeping kad

yang mempunyai satu CASE STUDY yg sama tapi recommendation yang berlainan..

waktu ni x bole bincang taw.. satu meja satu orang,, tapi, u'll be given papers to jot down any info..

next, kami dipanggil seorang demi seorang untuk ditemuduga,,

ada dua panel pada waktu itu:

1) Encik Norman b Tumiran

2) Puan Aisyah..

p/s: jangan risau, panel ni mmg muka macam garang.. haha.. tp, mereka sangat baik hati:)

then, kami diminta memperkenalkan diri serba sedikit..

u can talk about urself, previous school, achievements n etc..

'but not too long keyh..:P panel akan tanya soalan berkenaan apa yg anda sampaikan..

yg penting, anda berlaku jujur ketika ditemuduga..

yakin dengan apa yang disampaikan..

setelah habis sesi individu, kami dipanggil masuk secara berkumpulan dan

membincangkan case study kami bersama di hadapan panel.. kemudian,

kami harus mencari satu penyelesaian terbaik untuk dibentangkan..

ohya, all the presentation will be in English.. even the panel is talking or asking you in Malay,

you answer in English.. ini difference dengan JPA yg saya pg..

tips untuk segala test:

english kena improve n yakin diri..

study lah math n science yang basic2 tu esp topic form5..

kadang2 bukan x taw, cuma dah lama x study, soalan yg senang pun jd susah.. :p

interview, improve ur communication skill, berlatihlah di rumah kalo perlu:)

topi selalunya isu semasa.. antaranya:

education policy, crime wave.. macam2 lagi laa..

ohya, Petronas is looking for people yg ada vision, ada semangat

kemudian, orang yg ada empathy.. jadi, waktu perbincangan kumpulan,

jangan manipulate the situation walaupun anda sangat hebat..

tolerate dengan ahli yg lain yaa..

ohya, Alhamdulillah saya telah terpilih dan akan melanjutkan pelajaran ke KDU untuk A-level

pada julai ini sebagai persediaan ke UK... saya masih lagi perlu berusaha keras agar dapat buat

yang terbaik:)

seorang lagi rakan saya dalam kumpulan ini, Elsa Ng akan ke intec untuk persediaan ke

AUSTRALIA:) best wishes to her..

di sini uga saya dapat peluang kenal dengan ramai kawan2 baru yg baik hati:)

It's all about life :')

Sometimes life is unpredictable

Sometimes life does not go the way we want

Sometimes knowing the truth in life is painful

Sometimes we felt that life is meaningful

Sometimes life is very scary to be faced

Sometimes...

And sometimes knowing all of that makes me wanna give up hopes in life

But always, i do believe that i can stand against it.

Always i tried to make life, mine or yours, be the best of ever :')

And always...

I'm thinking on how to change life towards betterness

Even though i know it's hard

I always believe that there is a way

And always said that i'll never give up..

We Run KL 10K

It's 2.15 in the morning and i'm still at the living room with my eyes wide open o.0

Bizarre! I never went to sleep this late. Maybe this eagerness in me to write about

this event that make me still awake.

Back to the main point, it's a very tiring but exciting day where me and my

friends joined the Nike Run 2011 :) It's an interesting journey as we started right after subuh

prayer. Feeling enthusiastic, we woke up at 5 and got prepared. Right at 6 am, we went to the

drop off zone where the cab was already waiting for us. When we arrived at the LRT station, it

was still closed :D But still, we found our way to catch up with the very first LRT that morning.

And it's kinda funny to see so many people wearing same cloth as us in the LRT. Those are the

people who also got involved with the run :) We arrived at 6.30 and made our way to the

starting point at Padang Merbok, Kuala Lumpur. There are lots of people as we arrived. All

wearing orange shirts. hehe~ We started our run at 7.15.

There are many things happen during the run, i saw a lady walking with her baby, a couple

who ran together, an uncle who blew the spirit to keep running to everyone that he passed by.

It was a very interesting event. I was quite slow that i got left behind. But, i don't mind since

my aim was to complete the run in less than 2 hours:) When i was walking alone, there are

many things that came across my mind. I was too tired after the 6th KM till i feel like stopping.

At that point of time, i received this SMS from a friend of mine sounds like this "Wootwoot anda

di mana? Kami jalan slowly da lepas 6KM tunggu anda keyh, go Qien go! :D" And i started to run

again to catch up with them. :') Then, i told them to go first as i might cause them to be late.

After the 8KM, i was darn tired. However, after seeing a smile from this one lady and received

a good luck from her, i felt that yes, i need to finish this run.

Alhamdulillah i made my way to the finishing line~ Thus, i can conclude that actually the

most important value in life is to believe. :) If i didn't believe in myself, i might not finish the run

and stop halfway. That determination is far more important than anything. Taken from one of

my colleague's tweet "Yes, i was not the best runner, but i ran and finished it" -Awad Almurisi.

Hence, we can actually do anything that we want as long as we believe that we can. Other than

that is not to give up easily. Because life is never easy, but we are the one who choose whether

to make it easy or not. Not to forget that HE will never give us something that we cannot bear

with :)

Officially, this is my first entry as i have just create a new blog to replace the old one. There are

reasons why i replaced it but i don't think it's necessary to be stated here :)

Back to the main agenda, I hope this will be a better one and will be beneficial

to all readers, insyaAllah~

As we are moving into a new year (Awal Muharram) today, or to be exact, yesterday,

i believe that most of us are setting our aims towards becoming a better person.

No matter what our aim are, let's hope that this year is going to be a better

year from the previous one, ameen :)
